What an amazing photo! The color and saturation just pops off the page. It almost feels outer
wordly.

Fantastic image! Composition. Color. Subject. Symmetry. Captures the true identity of India. Love this photo!
Those eyes are piercing, i love the detail in his clothing and paraphernalia, lovely photo.
Absolutely amazing photo! Curious to know what kind of lens, camera etc was used. I would love to see more of his work.
Jay submitted 2 other images, which you can see at http://www.flickr.com/photos/asiatrans/4638933809/in/set-72157622523973892/ and http://www.flickr.com/photos/asiatrans/4639576994/in/set-72157622523973892/.
He traveled for 3 weeks through India during the Kumbh Mela when he captured these images. More of his photos from this trip can be seen at http://jaydorfman.arloartists.com/portfolios/37711-india-2010
The umbrella is curious because it is not raining. Perhaps he uses it as a sail, coasting from one universe to the next.
I have seen some of his other work on his web site jaydorfmanphotography.com. His work is also currently being showed at a gallery in NYC. I understand he is a film maker.
Does anyone know how the photographer shoots? How does he get the images to pop like that, lens, camera, software? This image is so surreal, much like the world these holymen inhabit.
